ICBC Approved Counselling with Direct Billing

The emotional support you need.

After being involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA), you may face more than just physical injuries. Car accidents can significantly affect your mental well-being. You might experience increased stress, fear, or anxiety. In some cases, individuals may develop flashbacks or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

At Growing Minds, we provide specialized counselling for car accident recovery. We help you process the emotional impact, reduce stress, and regain confidence helping you to get back behind the wheel and retake control of your life.

Common emotional symptoms may include:

  • Anxiety, panic, or fear around driving or being a passenger

  • PTSD, depression, or panic attacks

  • Nightmares, intrusive memories, or flashbacks

  • Difficult life transitions

  • Grief around injury or loss

  • Emotional irritability, numbness, or detachment

  • Difficulty concentrating, focusing, or feeling motivated

How does ICBC counselling work?

If you have been the driver or a passenger in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) and have an open claim with ICBC, you may be eligible for counselling at no cost to you. While the total number of sessions you can receive depends on the severity of your psychological injuries, individuals generally receive 12 counselling sessions to be completed within 12 weeks of the accident. If you need more sessions after this time we will provide ICBC with updates and apply for additional sessions on your behalf.
